"Art
is from the soul," says fiber artist Lori Monson. "I
strive to put that soul and emotion on textile surfaces, which
I hope transcends to a visual delight and art to wear."
Each
jacket, vest, scarf and dress is a one-of-a-kind piece; hand-sewn
and handpainted using an array of dyeing techniques, including
discharging, immersion,
screen printing, stamping,
and the Japanese art of shibori.
"Vivid
spectrums of color appeal to our senses, refuel us and make us
sigh with joy," Lori says. "We can enjoy the moment,
adorn ourselves. The spirit soars, and we are radiant."
